Zambia

Capital of: Lusaka

Lusaka is Zambia’s capital and largest city, home to Parliament, State House, and most national ministries. Located on a central plateau, it serves as the country’s administrative and transport hub, with road and rail links radiating across Zambia. Historically, the colonial administration moved the capital from Livingstone (near Victoria Falls) to Lusaka in 1935 for its more central position and growth potential; it remained the capital at independence in 1964. Remember: Ndola and Kitwe are Copperbelt mining cities, Livingstone is the tourism gateway, but Lusaka is the political core.
