Qatar
Capital of: Doha
Doha is the capital of Qatar, serving as the nation’s political, economic, and cultural hub on the Persian Gulf. It’s home to the government, major universities (Education City), and Hamad International Airport, and it gained global visibility hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Al Khor and Mesaieed are important Qatari towns (fishing/heritage and industry/port, respectively), while “Al-Farwaniyah” is actually a governorate in neighboring Kuwait—so “Doha Al-Farwaniyah” is incorrect.
Memory tip: D for Doha, Desert, and Dhows—the traditional wooden boats you’ll see along Doha’s Corniche. As Qatar became independent in 1971, Doha remained its capital, growing from a pearling settlement into a skyline of modern towers and museums like the Museum of Islamic Art.
