Czech Republic

Capital of: Prague

Prague is correct because it is the Czech Republic’s capital and largest city, home to the president at Prague Castle and the national government. Sitting on the Vltava River, Prague (Praha in Czech) has been the historic center of Bohemia since the Middle Ages and later served as the capital of Czechoslovakia. Its Old Town, Charles Bridge, and Astronomical Clock reflect its role as a long-standing political and cultural hub. To remember it: “P for Prague = Political capital.” The other choices are important Czech cities—Brno is the second largest and capital of Moravia, Olomouc is a historic university city, and Liberec lies in the north—but only Prague has been the continuous seat of national power.
